On October 20-21, 2016, President of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (IEEE VTS) Javier Gozalvez, Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (UMH), gave a wonderful talk "Device-centric Wireless Networking for 5G" in Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO). He mainly discussed three aspects: the potential of device-centric wireless technologies to improve energy efficiency, quality of service and capacity compared to conventional base station-centric cellular communications.
